As of January 1, 2026, the Algerian unemployment benefit has been increased to 18,000 DA per month, with health insurance covered by the state. To retain eligibility, beneficiaries must validate their registration with the National Employment Agency (ANEM) every six months, either through the Wassit Online portal or at their local agency branch.
There are five critical errors that lead to the immediate suspension of payments: failing to renew registration on time, missing an official appointment, refusing a job offer matching the beneficiary's qualifications, rejecting or quitting vocational training, and failing to report any income earned by the beneficiary or their spouse. Providing false information may lead to legal consequences.
The benefit is strictly for first-time job seekers aged 19 to 40 residing in Algeria who have no other source of income. The support is provided for one year and is renewable only once, though existing beneficiaries have transitional rights for an additional year. Beneficiaries are advised to monitor their status via the Minha platform to ensure compliance with all requirements.
