The 29th Algiers International Book Fair (SILA) is set to take place from October 28 to November 7, 2026, at the Algiers Exhibition Center. Commissioner Mohamed Iguerb announced a diverse program balancing historical memory and modern literary trends. The event will feature notable figures like poet Adonis, novelist Yasmina Khadra, and historians Benjamin Stora and John Kaiser. Key themes include the centenary of the North African Star and the history of Emir Abdelkader, alongside a firm stance on supporting causes such as those of Palestine and Western Sahara. A special focus is placed on young Algerian authors, while the «Esprit Panaf» space will explore African literature. Several local creators will be honored for their contributions to national culture. Doors will be open to the public starting October 29, between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
