Russia proposes strategic technological partnership with Algeria

Russian officials are calling for a transition in the technological partnership with Algeria, moving away from simple product supply towards joint development and local integration. Ahead of the third Russia-Africa summit, scheduled for October 28-29, 2026, in Moscow, Russian representatives emphasized that their technological solutions offer secure and independent foundations for national development. The proposal covers various sectors, including cybersecurity, smart city initiatives, digital education, and artificial intelligence in the energy industry. Russia intends to help Algeria build a national ecosystem, train specialists, and deploy nuclear power for digital infrastructure, with the goal of creating shared access to broader African markets.
