Energy Alliance: Algeria and Bangladesh Ink Strategic Hydrocarbons Agreement
Algeria and Bangladesh have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening ties within the hydrocarbons sector. The memorandum of understanding was signed in Algiers by Algerian Minister of Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab and Bangladeshi Minister of Energy Iqbal Hassan Mahmood. The pact focuses on key areas such as exploration, production, and infrastructure development. Beyond technical cooperation, the agreement facilitates the supply of crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), LPG, and fertilizers to the Bangladeshi market. To ensure the success of this partnership, a joint steering committee will be established to oversee projects, share expertise, and manage the collaboration between national companies like Sonatrach, ultimately fostering mutual economic growth.
