The Agricultural Services Directorate of Jijel province has reported encouraging signs regarding banana cultivation within plastic greenhouses. Field inspections conducted by heads of agricultural branches in Taher, Chekfa, and Kaous revealed high product quality and satisfactory yields in several farms. The directorate noted that the success achieved using basic greenhouses suggests significant potential for growth through the adoption of improved techniques, such as multi-span greenhouses that provide more suitable climate conditions for plant development. These positive indicators are opening new avenues for local farmers to expand banana production, contributing to the diversification of local agriculture through modern greenhouse farming practices.
