CAF appoints match officials for Algeria vs. Togo qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football has selected a Gabonese refereeing crew, led by Pierre Atcho Ghislain, to officiate the upcoming match between Algeria and Togo on November 14th at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou. The appointment is notable due to previous complaints lodged by the Algerian Football Federation regarding Atcho’s performance during the 2023 AFCON, particularly concerning his role in the VAR room during the quarter-final match against Nigeria. He will be supported by assistants Boris Marlaise and Amos Abini, with Craig Forrest serving as the fourth official. For the return leg at the Kégué Stadium in Lomé, the match will be managed by Congolese referee Jean-Pierre Ngini, assisted by Sam Thermal and Anders Reganal, with Fitial Charles Gist as the fourth official.
