Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb has inaugurated the permanent committee tasked with monitoring and processing import requests, following Presidential instructions and Executive Decree No. 26-327 issued on October 13, 2026. The committee includes officials from the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Finance, the Bank of Algeria, the banking association, and the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal (CREA). The body is mandated to process, on an urgent basis, import applications for sensitive goods critical to national supply chains and domestic production. The CREA welcomed the initiative, highlighting that it fosters closer dialogue between the government and economic operators. The council emphasized that this move will support businesses, improve the national economic environment, and contribute to wealth creation and employment.
