The construction of a tire manufacturing facility in the El Hamoul industrial zone in Tafraoui, Oran, has reached 48% completion. The Wali of Oran, Ibrahim Ouchane, conducted an inspection visit to monitor the progress and address potential obstacles. To accelerate construction and enhance energy supply, he directed Sonelgaz to provide a second power connection to the site, while emphasizing the importance of meeting project deadlines. The plant, established through a partnership between El Hadj Larbi Industries and the Chinese firm Doublestar, held its groundbreaking ceremony in July 2025. Once operational, the facility aims to produce at least 7 million tires per year, a move intended to decrease import reliance and ensure a stable supply for the domestic market.
