Minister of Energy, Mourad Adjal, announced that 1,000 charging points for electric vehicles have been installed across gas stations on the East-West highway and various cities in Algeria. Despite this progress, the official launch of the network is scheduled for 2027. The delay is due to the pending establishment of a pricing structure and payment system for users. Managed by the Sonelgaz group, this initiative aims to support the national transition to electric mobility alongside the growth of local industrial projects in the automotive and energy sectors.
