The euro exchange rate on Algeria's parallel currency market remained stable this Sunday, October 11, 2026. At the Square Port-Saïd in Algiers, the European currency is trading at 276 dinars for sale and 273.50 dinars for purchase, following a period of volatility. Market operators note that the stabilization is linked to a decline in demand, as travel agencies organizing Umrah trips are reducing their foreign currency acquisitions due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Despite this stabilization, a significant gap persists compared to the official exchange rate set by the Bank of Algeria, which stood at approximately 150.92 dinars per euro as of October 8, reflecting a disparity of over 125 dinars per euro.
