The Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure has issued a clarification regarding the funding of the railway project connecting Laghouat to Tamanrasset. The project is split into two segments: the first, covering 495 km between Laghouat, Ghardaia, and El Menia, is financed by the African Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The second segment, spanning 1,080 km between El Menia, In Salah, and Tamanrasset, is fully funded by the national budget. Regarding reports about the exclusion of the Islamic Development Bank, the ministry confirmed that consultations are ongoing for other priority railway projects. The ministry urged media outlets to rely on official statements to ensure the accuracy of public information.
