Behind the scenes of Anis Hadj Moussa's failed move to Al-Ittihad

Feyenoord general manager Robert Eenhoorn has shed light on why the transfer of Algerian international Anis Hadj Moussa to Saudi side Al-Ittihad collapsed last summer. Despite a 42.5 million euro bid, the Dutch club grew skeptical over the payment structure, as the initial installment covered only 10% of the total fee. Feyenoord insisted on a bank guarantee to secure the deal, which the Saudi club failed to provide by the transfer deadline. According to Saudi media reports, Al-Ittihad struggled to secure such funds after reaching their financial limit for the player. Eenhoorn dismissed the offer as lacking credibility. Having remained in Rotterdam, Hadj Moussa has since become a key performer for his club, contributing five goals and one assist this season.
