Ahead of the upcoming November 28th local elections, the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) in Béjaïa has completed its review of candidate submissions. Out of 4,436 dossiers filed, 3,995 were approved, while 441 were rejected across both political party lists and independent groups. The competition involves 62 lists for municipal assemblies and 9 for the provincial assembly. Rejected candidates have a three-day window to file appeals with the administrative court, followed by a potential further appeal to the court of appeals. This legal process is currently underway, allowing for the replacement of candidates before the official final list is published and the election campaign begins.
