The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, announced that the "Sokon Algeria" plant in Zana El Beida, Batna province, is ready to begin operations. During a site visit, Rekkache confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place, including the hiring and training of 450 workers, ahead of the first truck production scheduled for next January. The project, valued at 9.8 billion DZD, is set to create 1,800 direct jobs and 4,200 indirect ones. Spanning 13.6 hectares, the facility houses three assembly lines for "Sokon" and "Hano" vehicles, with an annual capacity of 60,000 units. Authorities are also working to secure additional industrial land to support local subcontracting and boost the domestic integration rate.
