Algeria's non-hydrocarbon exports rise by 10%, nearing $4 billion

According to Zouhir Moussaoui, an official at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Algeria's non-hydrocarbon exports reached nearly $4 billion in the first eight months of this year, a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Projections suggest this figure could hit $5 billion by the end of 2026. The strategy focuses on maintaining this momentum to improve the trade balance. Specifically, agri-food exports—such as biscuits, chocolate, olive oil, and sauces—rose by 15%, totaling $213 million. Having achieved self-sufficiency in various food products, Algeria is now exporting sweets and beverages to around 30 countries. These results are bolstered by national export exhibitions designed to showcase the quality and competitiveness of Algerian goods to international markets.
