The Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry has announced the publication of the National List of Essential Medicines, featuring 424 substances across 22 therapeutic categories, encompassing 1066 products. The list was developed by a diverse panel of experts led by Professor Amar Tebaibia, including representatives from various ministries and health agencies. The methodology followed WHO guidelines adapted to the specific needs of the Algerian population. This strategic framework is designed to strengthen pharmaceutical security, rationalize resource utilization, and prioritize local production and imports. Regular updates are planned to ensure the list remains a relevant tool for health planning.
