Spain accuses Morocco of orchestrating migrant influx into Ceuta

Juan Jesús Vivas, the president of Ceuta, has accused Morocco of being the primary actor behind the surge in irregular migration that took place on July 30 and 31. Vivas described the massive influx as a planned operation threatening the stability of the city, citing the suspicious presence of Moroccan warships near the coast during the events. In response to these developments, the Spanish official has called for a stronger European presence at the border, specifically requesting an expanded role for the EU agency Frontex. He also urged the acceleration of the repatriation process for approximately 3,300 Moroccan minors currently overwhelming local reception centers. Meanwhile, Judge Maria Tardón continues a judicial investigation into the circumstances of the border breach and the parties involved.
