Ahead of the 14th edition of the Oran International Arab Film Festival, scheduled from December 8 to 24, 2026, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, the "Lamine Merbah" film club has been established. The launch event was led by festival commissioner Larbi Lakhal and honorary president Mohamed Houidag. Timed with the commemoration of the Day of Memory, the club aims to foster film culture and preserve national history through artistic expression. As part of the proceedings, the film "Beni Hendel" by director Lamine Merbah was screened to encourage public discussion and cultural exchange. The club's objectives include promoting Algerian film production, nurturing young talent, and utilizing cinema to document social and historical changes, while fostering openness toward Arab and global cinematic works.
