A framework cooperation agreement was signed in Annaba between the fishing schools of El Kala in Algeria and Tabarka in Tunisia. The deal followed a workshop focused on mastering the capture of dolphinfish using fish aggregating devices (FADs). The agreement, signed by officials Miloud Tria and Achraf Benslimane, aims to foster knowledge sharing, enhance vocational training, and facilitate joint field exercises. The two-day event resulted in several recommendations, including a pilot project for FAD experimentation, training sessions for fishermen, and a joint effort to promote products like the blue crab. Both parties committed to a structured operational program with biannual evaluations to boost scientific research, marketing, and investment opportunities in the fisheries sector.
