The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) announced the dismantling of an international criminal network involving the arrest of 61 Moroccan citizens in Oran earlier this month. According to official reports, the group was preparing acts of sabotage aimed at undermining public safety and order in Algeria. Investigations revealed that the individuals entered the country illegally via the El Kala forest border region after flying into Tunisia. Among those detained is a former Moroccan military officer. The police operation also resulted in the seizure of Moroccan passports and various amounts of cash, including Euros and Moroccan Dirhams. The 61 suspects have been brought before the prosecutor at the specialized penal center of Oran.
