Port workers worldwide organize to block arms shipments to Israel
Labor unions and worker groups across nearly 100 ports in 17 countries are preparing to hold strikes and protests on October 30 to demand an end to the transit of weapons and supplies linked to the war on Palestinians. Operating under the slogan "Port workers do not work for war," the initiative is led by the "Port Workers in Action" coalition in coordination with the "No Port for Genocide" campaign. The objective is to pressure shipping firms and commercial entities to halt the handling of military equipment destined for the occupation. Major disruptions are expected in Italy and Greece, including a 24-hour strike at the port of Piraeus. The movement also includes planned labor delays in major French ports such as Marseille and Le Havre, with additional participation from Spain, India, Sweden, Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Denmark, Ireland, and the United States.
