Education: New Pedagogical Schedule for Arabic and Mathematics in Primary Schools

The Ministry of National Education has announced a restructuring of the pedagogical timeline for Arabic and mathematics in primary schools. Under a directive issued on October 11, learning cycles have been extended from three to six weeks, with a full week now allocated for integration, assessment, and remediation instead of the previous half-week. This change addresses the constraints of the former system, where insufficient time hampered the practical application of lessons and early identification of student difficulties. The new framework facilitates a shift from group-based integration to individual assessment, enabling teachers to better identify and address specific learning gaps. In mathematics, remediation sessions will be held prior to practical life-application tasks, ensuring students solidify their knowledge before testing it in new contexts. The ministry emphasizes that this approach prioritizes differentiated instruction, where teachers tailor activities to student needs within a flexible classroom environment to improve overall academic performance.
