New executive decree regulates the integration of students with disabilities

A recent executive decree published in the Official Gazette outlines the framework for opening special classes for students with disabilities within mainstream schools. Decree number 26-312 mandates the full or partial integration of these students, ensuring the provision of specialized staff and necessary educational resources. The regulation covers various conditions, including physical, auditory, visual, and mild mental disabilities, as well as autism spectrum disorders, with specific class size limits established for each category. The National Solidarity sector is responsible for providing specialized teaching materials, while the National Education sector manages the required facilities. Furthermore, the decree ensures that appropriate accommodations are made for these students during exams and academic competitions.
