Algeria's hydrocarbon exports hit $37.5 billion in first nine months of 2026

Algeria recorded $37.5 billion in revenue from hydrocarbon exports between January and September 2026, according to Minister of State for Energy, Mohamed Arkab. During a presentation to the Finance and Budget Committee of the National People's Assembly regarding the 2027 draft finance bill, the Minister stated that this revenue growth was largely driven by a 37% increase in the average price of Algerian crude oil compared to the previous year, reaching $97 per barrel. Meanwhile, the average price for marketed gas stood at $11.3 per million British thermal units (BTU). These figures resulted in petroleum tax revenues of 2,841 billion dinars, exceeding the 2026 budget projections by 105%.
