Spanish intelligence report links Moroccan authorities to Sebta border crisis

A report from Spanish intelligence services suggests that Moroccan authorities intentionally allowed a mass influx of migrants into the city of Sebta last July. According to documents provided to the Spanish judiciary, Moroccan officials were fully aware of organized border crossing attempts but maintained a policy of deliberate passivity. While Rabat attributed its limited response to security commitments regarding the Throne Day celebrations, the report claims the regime sought political and media gains to influence its image with the European Union. Furthermore, the report notes that Spanish intelligence had warned local authorities of suspicious activity two days before the events, directly contradicting claims made by the Moroccan side. These findings are currently being examined by the Spanish National Court as part of an investigation into the alleged instrumentalization of migration for political leverage.
