Qatari side Al Shamal announced on Wednesday the official signing of Algerian star Riyad Mahrez on a free transfer. The former Manchester City player arrived in Doha earlier this October to complete the transition following the end of his spell with Saudi club Al-Ahli. Mahrez will now reunite with his international teammate Baghdad Bounedjah at the club. Al Shamal expects that the vast experience of the former Algerian national team captain will help boost the team's performance in both domestic and Asian competitions.
