Air Algérie has implemented a 'piece concept' for baggage since October 2023. Baggage allowance varies by ticket type: 'Light' fares offer no checked luggage, whereas standard classes generally permit one 23 kg bag. Items weighing between 23 and 32 kg incur extra fees, while bags exceeding 32 kg must be processed as cargo. To minimize costs, passengers are encouraged to purchase additional baggage online at least 24 hours before their flight, which can save up to 40 euros compared to airport rates. Bags must also adhere to a size limit of 158 cm. Weighing luggage at home is a recommended practice to avoid unexpected expenses at the airport counter.
