During his visit to Baghdad for the 52nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, State Secretary for the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, held a meeting with Algerian citizens living in Iraq. At the Algerian embassy, he emphasized that supporting the diaspora is a top priority for the state, aiming to strengthen their bond with their home country and involve them in national development. Chaib highlighted the importance of fostering the cultural identity of the younger generations within the diaspora. He also outlined ongoing efforts to digitize consular services and simplify administrative procedures to better serve Algerian citizens. The meeting provided a platform for an open dialogue where the Secretary of State listened to the concerns and suggestions of the attendees, pledging that the Foreign Ministry and the embassy in Baghdad would work to address them.
