The Public Works Department of Béjaïa province has launched a technical study to protect the shoreline along the Djoua and El Meghra beaches in the municipality of Boukhlifa. This initiative is part of efforts to safeguard the National Road 9, a vital artery connecting Béjaïa to Sétif. The study will assess the road's vulnerability to coastal risks, including rising sea levels and marine flooding, which often cause traffic disruptions and safety hazards. By analyzing coastal erosion and wave dynamics, the authorities aim to develop effective engineering solutions to mitigate shoreline retreat and ensure the long-term stability of the road infrastructure.
