Algérienne des Eaux calls for bill payment to maintain water infrastructure

The Algérienne des Eaux (ADE) has urged its customers to settle outstanding water and sanitation bills to ensure the ongoing maintenance and modernization of its network. The company stated that unpaid debts significantly limit its financial ability to repair leaks and manage facilities efficiently. To avoid water supply interruptions, ADE encourages customers with accumulated debts to visit commercial offices to discuss payment plans, while also promoting its electronic payment channels. Managing a 100,000-kilometer distribution network serving 6.9 million subscribers, the company highlights the high financial burden of infrastructure upkeep, noting that fixing a single leak costs over 10,000 DA. By August 2026, the company had already repaired 173,000 leaks.
