Electoral Authority dismisses claims of lack of interest in local elections

The head of the National Independent Authority for Elections, Saïd Laroussi, has denied claims regarding a lack of interest in the upcoming local elections scheduled for November 28. Laroussi stated that the increase in new voter registrations and the higher number of candidates compared to the 2021 elections demonstrate active political participation. The official emphasized the authority's commitment to transparency, neutrality, and equal opportunity, noting that all rejected candidacy files were legally justified, with the right to appeal preserved. He encouraged citizens to participate responsibly, affirming that the authority remains dedicated to upholding the law throughout every stage of the electoral process.
