New investment fund launched to support university startups

The Stock Exchange Organization and Supervision Commission (COSOB) has granted approval for the establishment of the "University Fund for Innovation and Startups." This venture capital collective investment fund, with an initial capital of 280,354,200 Algerian dinars, is designed to support innovative projects and startups linked to the national university and research ecosystem. The fund will prioritize investments in sectors such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, healthcare, biotechnology, agriculture, and energy. Managed by the Financial Investment Company of the University of Algiers 3, this initiative marks the second fund licensed under the new regulatory framework, aiming to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial expansion.
