Turkey Leads Importers of Algerian LNG in Q3 2026

Algeria strengthened its footprint in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market during the third quarter of 2026, supplying seven international destinations. Turkey maintained its position as the top importer, receiving 700,000 tons—representing 45% of total shipments—which marks an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2025. France and Italy followed with 390,000 tons and 200,000 tons, respectively. Croatia also saw significant growth, with imports jumping by 117% to reach 130,000 tons. Other destinations included Spain and the United Kingdom. Regarding pipeline supplies, Algeria sustained a steady flow of gas to Europe at 78 million cubic meters per day. These developments occur alongside Algeria’s ongoing initiatives to boost exploration capabilities and expand its solar energy projects.
