The world's largest sovereign wealth fund, managed by the Central Bank of Norway, has pulled 661 million dollars in investments from five Israeli banks. This move follows an assessment by the fund's ethics council, which determined there was an unacceptable risk that these entities were contributing to serious human rights abuses amid the conflicts in Gaza and the West Bank. The fund had previously excluded the American firm Caterpillar, citing that the company's equipment was utilized for the illegal large-scale demolition of Palestinian properties, noting the firm's failure to implement adequate measures to prevent such misuse.
