From October 12 to 19, Algeria deployed a team of technical experts to Niger to assist with an incident at the 'Gomri W-8' oil well in the Agadem region. The delegation, including officials from the Hydrocarbons Ministry, the Regulatory Agency (ARH), and Sonatrach, collaborated with Nigerien authorities to address the situation and mitigate environmental impacts. President Abdourahamane Tiani of Niger expressed his thanks to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the prompt response to the request for aid. This effort highlights the robust bilateral cooperation between the two countries, which also encompasses other strategic sectors such as the recent expansion of trans-Saharan fiber optic infrastructure.
