The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in Ireland has directed the low-cost airline Ryanair to withdraw its advertising campaign that labeled Dakhla as part of Morocco. This action follows a complaint from Irish MEP Lynn Boylan, who argued that the marketing materials were misleading. The regulatory body stated that Dakhla is located in the Western Sahara, a territory recognized by the UN as non-self-governing. Ryanair's promotional emails sent in March and August had explicitly associated the city with Morocco. The ASA has recommended that the campaign be pulled, citing the status of the region as reaffirmed by recent UN resolutions.
