Construction companies have resumed operations on the National Road 20 expansion project in Guelma province, specifically on a segment connecting Medjez Amar and Oued Zenati. Teams are currently laying asphalt and installing median barriers, taking advantage of favorable weather to advance this 3-km section, which is part of the project's sixth phase. This strategic route is vital for the region's economic and social connectivity. Local residents and drivers are also looking forward to the resumption of stalled work on the 1.5-km stretch between Houari Boumediene and Salaoua Announa. Meanwhile, progress continues on the second phase, covering 15 km between Oued Zenati and the Constantine border. This initiative is designed to end years of isolation and improve access to major commercial and industrial hubs in neighboring wilayas, addressing a long-standing request from the local population.
