The regional department for combating organized crime in Ouargla successfully intercepted a shipment of 57,500 pregabalin capsules last week. During the operation, a suspect was arrested and a commercial vehicle used for the smuggling was confiscated. Following intelligence work, the vehicle was tracked traveling from a southern province toward the western region of the country. It was stopped in the province of Laghouat with the support of the judicial police and customs officers. The drugs were hidden within the vehicle. The suspect has since been presented before the public prosecutor at the Laghouat court.
