President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has called on economic operators to ensure that proceeds from non-hydrocarbon exports are fully repatriated to the national treasury. During a speech to business leaders, the President acknowledged that while the state supports export initiatives, it is mandatory for exporters to fulfill their financial obligations. He noted that a minority of operators are failing to bring foreign currency back into the country. Tebboune reaffirmed the national target of reaching $20 billion in non-hydrocarbon exports, which would mark a major shift in the nation's economy. He stressed that clear financial transparency is required, ensuring that export revenues are correctly deposited into domestic bank accounts rather than remaining abroad.
