The city of Tizi-Ouzou is currently hosting a honey and bee products fair at the former town hall square, running until October 29th. The event features 40 local beekeepers showcasing various high-quality honey varieties and natural by-products like beeswax and propolis. During the opening, the Director of Agricultural Services, Nadir Boussa, highlighted the region's strong industry, which supports 7,600 beekeepers and over 120,000 active hives, yielding 2,100 quintals of honey this season. Co-organized by the Chamber of Agriculture and local professional associations, the fair pays tribute to the late Meterfi Ali, a pioneer who played a crucial role in developing the craft in the region since the 1990s.
