Algeria Aims for Locally Produced Car by 2028 with German and Italian Partners

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has announced Algeria's ambition to manufacture a domestic car by the end of 2028, in collaboration with German and Italian industrial partners. The goal is to move beyond simple vehicle assembly by producing key components, such as gearboxes and wheels, within the country. This project is part of a broader national strategy to boost local production and lower dependency on imports. While the ambition is clear, specifics regarding the manufacturers, vehicle models, and production locations have yet to be disclosed.
