The Algerian Minister of Culture and Arts has announced the launch of three international festivals focused on children's and youth literature. These include a festival dedicated to the children's book industry, a literary and cultural festival for youth in Ouargla, and an international event in Constantine, which was previously formalized in the official gazette. These initiatives have received praise from industry professionals. Writer Nadjia Belal described the move as a promising step toward fostering the imagination of future generations. Author Souhila Rezig noted that these events will provide a vital platform for the children's literature sector, facilitating collaboration in writing, publishing, illustration, translation, and audiovisual adaptation, while helping to move beyond isolated individual efforts.
