2027 Finance Bill: 123.4 Billion DZD Allocated to Algeria's Energy Sector

The 2027 Finance Bill allocates 123.4 billion DZD to the energy and renewable energy sector. Minister Mourad Adjal stated that the funds are designated for electricity and gas grid extensions, energy efficiency programs, and renewable development. Of this, 93.89 billion DZD is earmarked for grid infrastructure, while 24.06 billion DZD is set aside for new energies. The plan introduces fiscal incentives, such as continued VAT exemptions for utilities and tax deductions for green hydrogen infrastructure. Algeria has reached 99% electricity coverage and 80% for gas. The government aims to achieve 15,000 MW of renewable capacity by 2035 and will soon launch 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations. Additionally, the state has fully funded the free installation of 21 million carbon monoxide detectors in households.
