Public sector consortium mobilizes for the Laghouat-El Menia-In Salah railway project
Four major state-owned companies have begun field preparations for the new railway line connecting Laghouat, El Menia, and In Salah. The consortium, which includes the Cosider group and specialized firms in infrastructure and engineering structures, has requested land in Ghardaïa and El Menia to establish operational bases and equipment depots. Construction site setups and the deployment of heavy machinery and technical staff are currently underway in El Menia to ensure the project commences on schedule. This strategic railway is intended to improve connectivity in the southern regions, boost economic activity, and streamline the transport of goods, passengers, and agricultural products.
