The joint Algerian-Tunisian committee for the development of border regions held a meeting in El Oued to assess the implementation of recommendations from the initial session held in Tabarka in January 2025. This gathering serves the shared vision of Presidents Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Kais Saied to boost bilateral cooperation. El Oued Wali, Larbi Bahloul, emphasized the strategic importance of developing these zones, while Tunisian Interior Ministry official Ibrahim Dahmani highlighted the need to resolve barriers to implement industrial and economic partnerships that benefit local citizens. Kamel Kaïli, from the Algerian Ministry of Interior, proposed the formation of sector-specific technical committees to monitor progress. The meeting included the governors and officials from border provinces of both nations to discuss joint project initiatives.
