Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi, has officially launched the 2026/2027 Quranic education season. Over 1.25 million students are enrolled across approximately 27,000 religious education facilities nationwide. This initiative utilizes a broad network including Quranic schools, Zawiyas, and mosques to foster religious learning. Additionally, literacy classes affiliated with these institutions have seen a rise in participation, reaching 105,000 students. The ministry aims to enhance educational methods, notably by preparing for the third national virtual meeting for Quranic education. The Minister highlighted the commitment to supporting teachers and acknowledged the achievements of Algerian students in international Quranic competitions.
