A Year After the Gaza Agreement: Persistent Violations and Growing Humanitarian Crisis

One year has passed since the Gaza ceasefire agreement, characterized by continuous violations and a failure by Israeli forces to uphold their commitments. While Hamas and Palestinian factions fulfilled their obligations regarding prisoner releases, Israel has systematically avoided its duties. Government media data in Gaza indicates that humanitarian aid and goods deliveries reached only 38% of agreed levels, and the Rafah crossing remained restricted, allowing only 14,000 out of 36,800 urgent travelers to leave. Field reports document over 5,474 ceasefire violations, resulting in 1,488 deaths, 5,280 injuries, and 203 detentions. With Israel rejecting the second phase of the US-backed plan and shrinking the habitable area to 40% of the Strip, the humanitarian catastrophe deepens, urging mediators to enforce the full withdrawal and the restoration of essential services.
