The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry has announced the approval of the first national list of essential medicines in Algeria. This strategic measure provides a framework for identifying national health priorities, ensuring the consistent availability of essential treatments, and boosting local production capacities. The list was finalized by a committee of experts representing various sectors, including health, defense, and higher education. This initiative aims to align domestic manufacturing and import strategies with patient care requirements, while also guiding investment toward strategically important pharmaceutical products for both the local market and potential international exports.
