The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has officially launched "supervised accounts" on YouTube for users in Algeria, aiming to protect minors in the digital space. Through the platform's "Family Center," parents are provided with tools to customize content settings according to their child's age and manually approve specific channels or videos. The update includes a timer for Shorts, as well as automatic protections for those under 18, such as disabling comments, targeted ads, and autoplay, alongside reminders to take breaks and adhere to sleep schedules. The Ministry is urging parents to utilize these features and engage with their children to ensure a safe and responsible internet browsing experience.
