Automotive Industry Boost in Western Algeria: New Projects and Infrastructure Development

The automotive assembly sector in western Algeria is seeing significant progress. The JAC truck factory in Temzouga (Aïn Témouchent) has commenced production with a capacity of 100,000 units, currently employing 214 workers with plans to reach 1,500. Meanwhile, the Fiat plant in Tafraoui is strengthening its operations through vocational training agreements to align workforce skills with industrial demands. To improve logistics, Oran authorities have initiated the dualization of the road connecting the Temzouga and Tafraoui industrial zones to the East-West Highway, facilitating better supply chain efficiency. Furthermore, a new plastic parts factory in Tissemsilt has been inaugurated to support local suppliers, while the status of the Renault plant in Oued Tlelat awaits further resolution.
